We tend to provide episodes that push a boundary or two or maybe even tug at your heartstrings. However, sometimes it’s nice have a good life with a guest that loves what they do and has the energy to show it. Lee Day is certainly the embodiment of that sentiment.
We met Lee through Renee King-Sonnen who we recently had on the show. Lee has had an interesting life and career being a celebrity pet entertainer. From being close friends with Doris Day to performing a Bark Mitzvah for Joan Rivers’ dog and even taking lobsters on a date. Lee is filled with stories and songs to comprise multiple books and albums. She was a riot to have on and had us rolling. If you’re driving while listening you may need to pull over until you stop laughing.
Lee is marrying two of Renee King-Sonnen’s pigs on September 17 at an event to benefit the Rowdy Girl Sanctuary. Tickets are available for the event in New York. If you are unable to attend you can donate directly to Rowdy Girl Sanctuary to assist in their efforts.
Lee Day provides a service not performed by any other entertainer world-wide. She has combined two of her most intense passions, show business and pets, into a business that has endured for fifteen years. How about doing something different and unique that has never been done on a sitcom before, a pet wedding, Bark Mitzvah, romantic date, or baptism party? This is not limited to just dogs and cats, she’s performed weddings for horses and penguins, taken two lobsters out on a romantic date, and the list goes on. Lee Day is a singer, actress, comedian and dancer.
Her business has been spotlighted on Eye on L.A., the Sally Jessy Raphael Show, Nickelodeon, Eyewitness News, the Regis Philbin Show, The Gayle King Show, A Current Affair and has been featured in the New York Times, USA Today, The Globe, Star-Ledger, L.A. Times, The Enquirer, Woman’s World, National Examiner, Londons’ Daily Mirror, People Magazine and Instyle Magazine. She has been seen on productions in London, Rome, Japan, and Australia. Lee has worked with the biggies. Her clients include a Bark Mitzvah for Joan Rivers’ dog, Spike, a wedding for Jim and Tammy Faye Bakers’ Yorkshire, Corky, (to a white poodle named Peaches) which were televised. She’s also styled Mary Tyler Moore’s golden retriever, Dash, and has sung for Princess Diana and her sons.
